Hi everyone,

I have noticed that the NDT tool at the http://www.broadband.gov/qualitytest/about/ claims to measure jitter. I was wondering whether this is possible since I do not see anything similar to a jitter variable in the web100 variables. I could be missing something of course, or the jitter may be approximated by other web100 variables. By reviewing the _javascript_ code communicating with the applet, there are also other indications that the applet used by the broadband test is somewhat modified and incorporates additional functionality not in the original ndt code.

Does anyone on this list have any idea how I can get in touch with the developers of the broadband.gov ndt applet, or how the ndt measures jitter? Perhaps I should re-post this message to ndt-devel?

Our team is working on a similar measurement project and we would very much like to know how the jitter is calculated by the existing web100 variables or if some new functionality has been introduced to the web100srv as well.

Athanasios

I 'll regretfully have to reply to myself here. I just noticed that the version which was posted on the internet2 site a couple of weeks ago does indeed incorporate this functionality, including the jitter estimation and the _javascript_ remote functions, along with some localization on the message strings. My bad.

Unfortunately, since we've been working on a version which was a couple of months old, our prototype has its own localization etc. But I think I can align into the latest snapshot with not too much effort. Fingers crossed.

Best Regards,
Athanasios
