As I mentioned earlier, I'm running a Fedora Core 4 machine at
http://207.160.132.59:7123. It generally runs faster outbound than
inbound. I was able to test to 2.2.43.184.4 twice this morning with the
following results:
TCP/Web100 Network Diagnostic Tool v5.3.3e
click START to begin
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 1.00Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 7.09Mb/s
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 45 Mbps T3/DS3 subnet
Information: Other network traffic is congesting the link
click START to re-test
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 1.00Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 7.04Mb/s
The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 45 Mbps T3/DS3 subnet
(I have included the Stats and Web100 info at the very bottom of this
email)
-Craig
PS for Richard- Could any additional information be derived from one
NDT station testing to another? Would a network of NDT stations testing
to other NDT stations tell us more (other than historical patterns from
multiple tests)?

Cheers Clay, can I try yours to see if its the same issues, what is the
url
to your server

estimate = 4.58 based on packet size = 11Kbits, RTT = 133.75msec, and
loss = 3.30306E-4
The theoretical network limit is 4.58 Mbps
The NDT server has a 256.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to
14.95 Mbps
Your PC/Workstation has a 0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to
0 Mbps
The network based flow control limits the throughput to 8.24 Mbps
