Dear All;

The Internet2 e2e performance team is pleased to announce that thanks to 
Jakub Slawinski, a Google Summer of Code student, a new version of the NDT 
code is now available.  New features include:
        IPv6 support
        Better client/server communications
        A new Simple Firewall Test to detect open ephemeral ports
        Support for long option names (e.g., -h and --help)
        Numerous bug fixes

You can download the tar-ball from the NDT web site 
http://e2epi.internet2.edu/ndt or directly from the download page 
http://e2epi.internet2.edu/ndt/download/ndt-3.3.12.tar.gz

A new alternative is to download a bootable Knoppix Live-CD that contains:
        A web100 enhanced Linux 2.6.17.7 kernel
        NDT 3.3.12
        BWCTL 1.2a
        OWAMP 2.0c
        NPAD 1.2

Simply burn the ISO image to a CD, drop the CD into your PC, and boot up a 
usable server that contains all your favorite network performance
