Identity and Access Management with Globus
Globus Auth is a pioneering foundational identity and access management (IAM) platform service used for brokering authentication and authorization interactions between end-users, identity providers, resource services/servers, and clients (including web, mobile, and desktop applications, and other services). While Globus Auth is widely used by large-scale cyberinfrastructure providers such as XSEDE, it is equally well suited to providing identity management capabilities for custom developed applications.
In this webinar we will introduce Globus Auth and describe how it implements common security constructs using the OAuth2 and OpenID Connect standards. We will walk through how web applications can use Globus Auth to enable login with existing user credentials, and how the same mechanisms can be used by command line applications to automate tasks such as recurring data synchronization and distribution of user selected data sets. We will also demonstrate how Globus Auth can be used to secure remote execution via SSH.
