New Signet Privilege Management System Release Provides Improved Installation & Customization Support
The Signet Privilege Management System enables consistent application of policy and business access rules across managed services. It places the control of a resource in the hands of its steward.
The new v1.2.0 provides an automated install and furthermore provides support for a site to preserve site customizations across upgrades. You want your deployment to have a local look and feel with a tailored interface reflecting your campus culture and preferences, and now you can rest assured that these settings will translate effortlessly across new builds and future releases. Your staff will find the new and improved installation easier and faster, allowing them to continue their focus on implementing local policy. This is critical to adoption, since the primary users of Signet are the campus decision-makers assigning and managing individuals' privileges.
The new release of Signet (v1.2.0) also:
- includes updated interface for Subject API v0.2.2
- offers full support of language localization/globalization
- extends developer-oriented documentation
Coupled with the Grouper Group Management Toolkit, the combined suite provides research and academic institutions the critical software and tools needed to support enhanced institution-wide role- and permission-based authorization for access to protected resources. The tools can also support the management of virtual organizations and aid the grid computing community by giving project teams spread around the world the ability to manage access to resources that are geographically dispersed.
