Hello

One of the benefits of member meetings for many attendees is the opportunity to hold small group meetings, BOFs, closed working group meetings, and so forth. In anticipation of such requests, we hold space at times other than the main meeting events for just this purpose. To aid us in handling and filling your requests for these "side" meetings, we are issuing a call for individual group meetings with a deadline of July 26th.

Please visit the link below. You will find a page describing the process for submitting a request for a Non-Track meeting. We will attempt to accommodate all requests made up until the deadline on a first come, first served basis.

The dates we have space available at the hotel are Sunday October 27, 2002 thorough Wednesday October 30, 2002. The opening plenary will take place on the morning of Monday October 28, 2002. Track sessions will begin just after the opening plenary and run until just before the closing plenary on the morning of Wednesday October 30, 2002.

Times available for these Non-Track Meetings are all day Sunday October 27, 2002 from 12:00pm until 10:00pm; meal times Monday through Wednesday though specific times have not yet been determined; Monday evening after the Welcome Reception; and Wednesday afternoon following the closing plenary. Analysis shows that most meetings are 1.5 to 2 hours in length, so we have created 90 and 120 minute time blocks to make it easier to schedule the meetings and intervening breaks. You can request a meeting of a different length, and we'll work with you to find the best fit in the schedule. We will also follow up individually as we schedule each meeting to minimize conflicts. A more detailed schedule with specific time slots will be available on our web site the week of July 15 if you would prefer to use that to choose your day/time preferences.

Information on submitting a request for a side meeting can be found at this URL:

Thank you and we look forward to a great meeting in Los Angeles in the fall!

Regards,
Traci Downey
