I'd like to alert you to a new Metamerge Tutorial to be held prior to
Advanced CAMP, the Campus Architectural Middleware Planning (CAMP)
workshop designed for experienced IT middleware architects being held
July 30 - August 2 in Boulder, Colorado.
This new session will cover Metamerge, a product that facilitates the
metadirectory processes, and will be held on Tuesday July 30 from
1:00pm-5:00pm prior to the opening of Advanced CAMP.
Current sessions offered during this CAMP include:
- Three-Tier Problem: There are many instances in the Internet where one
entity needs to act on behalf of or imitate another. For example,
portals often access the user's own e-mail or class information on the
user's behalf. This situation creates difficulties in protecting the
privacy of the end party, maintaining a secure connection, and
appropriately evaluating authorization.
- Shibboleth Deployment: Shibboleth is an initiative to develop and
deploy new middleware technologies that can facilitate
inter-institutional collaboration and access to digital content. It
supports a new model for access management control that is designed to
be both scalable and easily administered for both campuses and content
providers.
More information on the tutorial and Advanced CAMP can be obtained on
http://www.nmi-edit.org/news/adcamp.html. The number of tutorial
participants is limited to 35, so sign up soon by choosing Yes on the
drop down menu next to the question referencing Metamerge on the
Advanced CAMP registration page.
We will be offering wireless networking so bring your laptop and cards.
