Middleware Announcements

As most of you know, Internet2 is
continuing to experiment with video communication via the Internet2
Virtual Briefings. This is proving to be a useful vehicle for sharing the
valuable work of Internet2 activities and working groups and we want to
extend the experiment to see how a variety of session types can be
accommodated.

The upcoming virtual briefing, “Multi-campus Middleware Issues”,
scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 12:30 pm  2:00 pm EST, will
test a new format for interaction as we present the first Birds of a
Feather (BOF) session.  A few speakers have agreed to identify the
issues and present their plans and progress and we would like to have a
number of you interact via video much as we would in a live BOF. 
The number of H.323 ports available is limited so if you indicate an
interest in participating, we will reserve a port for you.  If you
plan to participate via H.323, please send your name and email address
and the name and email address of the technical contact for your site to
Ellen Vaughan () by Friday, February 15.  We
hope you will take this exciting opportunity to hear what those in the
trenches have learned about these issues and to participate by sharing
your experiences and concerns.
