The Penn Museum Presents India: Past & Present

Learn about the incredible diversity of the country of India, including the physical geography of India, and all about India’s individual states. In India, each state has its own style of clothing, language, cuisine and folk traditions, including many different kinds of dancing. Traveling between one Indian state and another is like travelling from one country to another. Students will get to see diverse fashions and folk dances, and will learn all about the variety of cultural and religious festivals that the people of India celebrate. Students will learn how wear a sari and about the celebrations of Diwali.

Education Specialists at the United States National Archives in Forth Worth, Texas, will present the diverse and dynamic world of primary sources that is open to all at the National Archives and answer questions about programs and resources available through the Archives' distance-learning programs.

Story of Pro Football
Presented by the Football Hall of Fame

The Story of Pro Football features a 10-minute Hall of Fame video and examines the history of professional football brought to life through the use of the museum's priceless artifacts and historical documents. There is also a discussion on Northeast Ohio's historic ties to pro football and why the Hall of Fame is located in Canton, Ohio.

All Around This World with Jay Sand: An interactive Introduction to Latin America Through Music brings Jay's world of music to students, taking them on a sprightly sing-along tour of Latin America and introducing them to the general concept of Latin America's mixing of indigenous, colonial (Spanish/Portuguese) and African cultures through movement and songs.

Animal Colors
Presented by the Bronx Zoo

This appealing program capitalizes on children's natural curiosity by engaging them in observation and deduction. Using visuals, games, and live animals, students will explore the role that color plays in animal survival. Students will learn that an animal's color may help it to attract a mate, to warn off other animals, and to hide from other animals.

DNA: the Dance of Life **NEW PROGRAM**

A 12-minute animated video sets the stage for this presentation by physician Dr. Phillip Silverstein as students meets the nucleoproteins pairs, Adenine and Thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. They are represented as committed dancing pairs who reside upon the framework of the now famous double helix known as DNA.
