The 10th Annual Megaconference Jr. Global Videoconference  -- May 2, 2013

~~ It's the 10 year anniversary of Megaconference Jr!! Be a part of this historic anniversary event! ~~

Be a part of this historic event to celebrate ten exciting years of student driven collaborative global exchange and awareness through videoconferencing. 

Overview - What is Megaconference Jr? 

Megaconference Jr, now celebrating its 10th year, is an award-winning international program designed to give students in elementary through secondary schools around the world the opportunity to communicate, collaborate and contribute to each other's learning in real time, using advanced network enabled multi-point videoconferencing technology. Megaconference Jr. is open to all school classrooms (students ages 5-23) around the world and is designed to be "student-driven." Students are encouraged to do the planning, preparation and presenting on their own, with support from their teachers, coaches, and/or other experts in the field to help them along the way. 

Call for Proposals 

This year, to honor the 10 year anniversary of Megaconference Jr., we're going back to the original event format with submitted proposals on any topic, theme, or presentation idea you and your students can dream up! Presentations should be approximately 20-25 minutes in length. Proposals that encourage interactivity and foster global partnerships will be favored but all topics/themes/ideas are welcome. Be creative! Submit a joint proposal for your work with a school in China or your project with a school just across town. Deadline for proposals is Friday March 1, 2013.

Call for New VJ Teams 

We are working to line-up our incredible student VJ teams to introduce the presentations and run the show on May 2nd. We are seeking new interested VJ teams from schools around the world. If your students would like to be VJs in Megaconference Jr. 2013 please contact us at . 

General Registration Now Open for Megaconference Jr. 2013

Don't miss this exciting opportunity on May 2, 2013 from 6am EDT to 7:00pm EDT (UTC -4) to interact with schools from around the world. This is your students' chance to interact with schools around the world and to learn from each other and contribute to each others learning in exciting and meaningful ways. 

How to Register 

Please go to: http://www.megaconferencejr.org and click on "Registration" in the top menu. That's all there is to it - no login, no verification - simple, right? 

How to Submit a Presentation Proposal  

1. Please follow the registration instructions above to register for the event. 

2. Then go to:  http://www.megaconferencejr.org and click "Proposal Form" in the top menu. Fill out the required information and click submit. Your proposal will be reviewed and you will be notified of acceptance no later than March 8, 2013.** Note: Deadline for proposals is Friday March 1, 2013.**

How to Be a View Only Site

Sites do not need to register if they only want to view the live webstream on the day of the event. Details on how to view the live stream will be posted on the website closer to May 2,  2013.
