OpenSAML user discussion

Hello,

Excuse me if this is a dumb question but... is there a prerequisite java 
version for using OpenSAML 2.0 ? I don't see any reference to this on the 
website. We use WSAD 5.1 configured for an older java level than 1.5 so I 
suspect this is insufficient. Is it?

background:

I have been asked to determine how to validate incoming SAML Responses at the 
SP end. I thought I would try the OpenSAML libraries. After downloading the 
latest OpenSAML 2.1.0 files, I was attempting the simple approach of using 
XML validation with the SAMLSchemaBuilder as the examples show. I am getting 
the class version exception below:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: 
org/opensaml/common/xml/SAMLSchemaBuilder (Unsupported major.minor version 
49.0)
