Hi All,

Here's a quick recap of our discussion from today.  Our next planning meeting will be Thursday 1/21 @ 10am Eastern (my apologies, I forgot about a previous commitment I have on Fri 1/22).

Confirmed program date/time -  Wednesday, Mar 9th.  11am-3:15pm Eastern.

Rough program schedule – (6) demo sessions, 30 minutes each with 15 minute breaks in between, thus….

11-11:30 – demo #1
11:30-11:45 - break
11:45-12:15 - demo #2
12:15-12:30 - break
12:30-1:00 - demo #3
1:00-1:15 - break
1:15-1:45 – demo #4
1:45-2:00 – break
2:00-2:30 – demo #5
2:30-2:45 – break
2:45-3:15 – demo #6

Target audience
  • We're aiming these demos at an audience ranging from middle school to community college.  Content providers will decide which specific age ranges they want to target.
Confirmed Content Providers -
  • NANSLO labs – allotted 2 demos min, 3 demos max.  Brenda (microscope lab, emissions spectroscopy, ecology lab, about 15 things can do).  Albert – still  TBD which lab to demo
  • iLabs studio -  allotted 1 demo min, 2 demos max.  Ashley Diane Walter .
Possible Content Providers -
  • NDSU Microscopy Center
  • PhET Interactive Simulations
Planning Deadlines
  • Fri 1/15 - Content provider demo descriptions due
  • Fri 1/22 (at latest) - marketing flyer and event registration (google form) ready for distribution
Other highlights
  • KINBER has offered to host the event on their Bluejeans platform.  This will enable interactive videoconferencing bridging, live streaming, and a recording of the program for on demand viewing.
  • The group agreed we should aim for at least 2 but up to 5 interactive sites per demo session.
TO DOs
  1. Jennifer – confirm how Bluejeans is currently handling cascading bridging.  Can schools (painlessly, reliably) come into bluejeans behind another h.323 bridge?
  2. Sue/Brenda/Albert – provide brief descriptions for their top 3 demos.
  3. Ashely -  provide  brief descriptions for up to 2 iLab demos.
  4. James – request Internet2 mar-com support for drafting program flyer.
  5. James – confirm whether existing NANSLO labs are connected to Internet2
  6. James/Sue – invite PhET to participate as a content provider
  7. Kim – confirm whether NDSU microscopy center would like to participate in the program.  Ask them to submit a brief description of their demo (title, 3-4 sentence description, grade level).
