Saint Francis University’s Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA) is proud to present “Four Hundred Thousand People, Carlos Santana, and Me,” as an interactive videoconference on Monday, April 16, from 2-3 p.m. Via live performance, lecture, and discussion, multi-platinum recording artist Jim Donovan will share a true "behind the scenes" story experience of failure, persistence and redemption on the stage of legendary Rock and Roll guitar hero Carlos Santana.

Picture this:
You're a young musician, and your band has been selected to go on tour with your all-time musical hero Carlos Santana. On the first day of the tour Carlos asks you to jam onstage with him in front of 30,000 people. You accept the invitation, but then onstage you completely humiliate yourself...over and over again!

That’s exactly what happened to Jim Donovan when his band “Rusted Root” opened for Santana on his 1997 tour. Fortunately, Jim found the guidance of a master mentor in Carlos Santana, who helped turn his negative experience into a positive life lesson. Jim’s story of learning a new way of “getting things done,” and of listening to (and inspiring) others, will speak to musicians and non-musicians alike.

Through a combination of lecture, short performance, and a participant question and answer session, Jim will share his motivating story and offer insights on how to truly live “in the moment.” CERMUSA, in conjunction with MAGPI, is proud to offer this program free of charge to participants. Registration deadline for this session is Tuesday, April 10, at 4:00 p.m. U.S. EST. Registration is open to the first ten applicants and Internet2 Connectivity is required. This event is intended for senior high school and secondary education audiences.

Jim Donovan is a multifaceted musician, teacher and member of Saint Francis University’s Fine Arts Faculty. His complete bio and tour schedule may be found at </x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>www.jimdonovanmusic.com</x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>.
