Subject: Collaboration Tools Special Event NOW IN PROGRESS

The Collaboration Tools special event (Collaboranza!) is now in progress and runs all this week.
This is your chance to try out some of the leading vendor products on the market today, FOR FREE!
You can see presentations about them, ask questions of the experts, compare notes with others, and make comments on the special Wiki that has ben set up for this event.

This event is sponsored by the Internet2 Commons as a public awareness service, and is open
to ANYONE, ANYWHERE. It is intended to help everyone learn about collaboration tools. You do not have to be connected to Internet2, or belong to any organization, or register in advance. Just go to:
http://commons.internet2.edu
and click on Collaboranza! That will get you to the list of participating vendor web sites.
Click on them to try them out.
Also click where is says Wiki to participate in the discussion and add your comments.

Also you can participate in the parallel H.323 video conference that runs 2-3 PM EDT (GMT-4)
every day this week. Connection information is on the web site.

Here are the tools you can try out:

- RADVision Click-to-Meet
- Microsoft Conference XP
- EVO
- inSORS (Access Grid)
- Marratech

These are the vendors that have chosen to be part of the Internet2 Commons Hosting Environment.
(We invited some others and they declined to participate.)

The times 10 AM to 5 PM EDT (GMT-4) each day. Hours might be extended.

On these days, all these vendors will make multiple formal presentations about their products, and they will provide expert help desk services to answer your questions. You will need to install and activate each one on your computer to try them out. The tools themselves will be used for the presentations and the help desks. Details and Instructions will be provided on the Internet2 Commons web site http://commons.internet2.edu

PRIZES:

You can win door prizes by participating:

1. RADVision will award an Ipod, selected from those who evaluate their product Click to Meet

2. inSORS will award a Camera, selected from among those who evaluate their Access Grid product.

3. The Internet2 Commons will award THREE High-Definition DVDs, of the movie of your choice.
These will go to people who have evaluated products and posted comments on the Wiki, which include your name or pseudonym. These awards will be made Friday, on the Wiki.

Lessons learned and evaluations will be gathered to help potential adopters of one tool or another with their decision-making and to help producers improve their products. Everybody wins!
