While the details of the agenda are being completed here are some highlights.

NOC Tools developed by the Global NOC at Indiana University for monitoring & measurement
Abilene Observatory - What measurement date is collected and how can you make use of it
        End2End Performance Initiative
Newcomer's Session: A "Big Picture" Discussion of Research and Education Networking Efforts

In-depth sessions Wed afternoon (one is dbl length and runs through Thur morning):
Practical Issues:  Practical Firewalls and Practical Optics (these two will consecutively share a single Wed afternoon session)
Implementing Network Defenses on University Networks
Distributed Denial of Service (nb this ID runs 'til ~lunch on Thur) An abstract is located at:
           http://www.ncne.org/training/techs/2003/0803/ddos.html

The workshop's focus is on Network Tuning and Performance Monitoring, Optical Networking and Security.  The plenary includes a panel on various high speed file transport protocols, a talk on how these transfers affect router design, status of the various national optical initiatives, DNSSe, and a case study of campus TV delivery via multicasting are among those planned.

BoFs are always welcome - please contact Janet Brown, Paul Love or Bill wing if you'd like to organize one.  Currently set are BoFs on Practical Electrical & Mechanical Eng from Grover Browing at the IU NOC, E2Epi's Campus Network Infrastructure Guide and a BoF for Researchers into High-speed File Transfer Protocols.

Additionally Dale Finkelson (dmf at unl.edu) is organizing a less traditional BoF - one for those who ride motorcycles.  If you're interested please contact Dale.  Dale adds that he's planning on bringing his new Triumph.
