SUBJECT: October 7-9, 1997 Internet2 member meeting


On behalf of Internet2, I would like to invite you to attend a luncheon,
briefing and discussion to be held on October 7 at 12:00 noon in the
Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The focus will be on the international community and how Internet2 can form
relationships with non-US researchers and networking organizations
interested in the same goals.  Internet2 staff and leadership will be
present to share with you plans/progress of Internet2.

During the discussion, participants will share next generation plans and
developments in their countries and regions as well as their suggestions
for models of collaboration between Internet2 developers and international
colleagues.

This briefing will take place in conjunction with the Internet2 General Member
Meeting on October 7-9. The meeting will provide updates about plans and
progress for the project and will showcase the new organization being put
in place to lead Internet2. You are welcome to attend the three-day meeting
as a guest of Internet2.  There is no charge for the meeting itself,
however, you will need to make reservations and cover hotel and other
travel expenses - information about the meeting hotel is included below.
