Internet2 Board and Council Nominations Deadline 25 February

Nominations for the Internet2 Board of Trustees and Advisory Councils are
now being accepted. Anyone from an Internet2 member organization may
nominate a candidate for the Board or a Council. You may also nominate
yourself for an opening.

The Nominating Committee will meet to review the nominations and recommend a
slate of nominees to the Board. The new Council and Trustees will be
announced at the Spring  2005 Internet2 Member Meeting.

All nominations must be received by 25 February.

The Board and Advisory Councils have the following openings (note that some
openings may be filled through reappointment):

+ Applications Strategy Council (ASC), 5 openings
The Applications Strategy Council (ASC) advises the Internet2 Board of
Trustees on matters related to the conceptualization, functionality,
technical design and development priorities of computer applications for
research and education which utilize advanced networking facilities.

+ Industry Strategy Council (ISC), 5 openings
Comprised of leaders from the networking industry, the Industry Strategy
Council (ISC) provides the Internet2 Board of Trustees with strategic vision
and input related to advanced networking and applications development, and
helps focus technology transfer aspects of Internet2 initiatives.

+ Network Planning and Policy Council (NPPAC), 5 openings
The Network Planning and Policy Advisory Council (NPPAC) advises the
Internet2 Board of Trustees on matters related to the planning, development,
financing and management of advanced networks for research and education.

+ Network Research Liaison Council (NRLC), openings TBD
The Network Research Liaison Council (NRLC) advises the Internet2 Board of
Trustees on matters related to working with the Computer Science research
community to migrate computer systems and network research ready for
prototype deployment into the Internet2 infrastructure, to enable a research
component of the infrastructure, and to provide logical or physical access
to such an infrastructure if it can be provided through cooperative efforts
within Internet2.
