inSORS PROVIDES INTERNET2 WITH CUSTOM VIRTUAL VENUE AND BRIDGING SOLUTION

August 4, 2003

Chicago, IL -- inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., a Chicago-based communications firm that develops, markets, and supports enterprise scale collaboration software and solutions, is delivering a custom Access Grid venue system along with a bridging solution for the Internet2(R) community. The new Internet2 Virtual Venue will allow Internet2 events, from staff meetings to workshops and member meetings, to have private, secure, anytime collaborations via video, audio and data-sharing modes of interaction. The venue will enable multiple, simultaneous meetings without the need for a Multipoint Control Unit (MCU), fully taking advantage of the advanced Internet2 network. Connectivity to the more than 200 Access Grid nodes in the United States, Europe and Asia is also made available through public venue accessibility.

The browser-based Internet2 Access Grid interface allows for single-click navigation of virtual rooms and also contains an integrated room scheduler. Multiple ease of use features have been added to the Internet2 venue such as enhanced data sharing and record and playback capabilities. inSORS also provides unicast-bridging capabilities to encourage inter-member collaborations where multicast connectivity might not be available.

The inSORS product line scales from large Command Centers and Conference rooms down to the laptop or desktop. Existing AG nodes can be updated and tuned-up by inSORS. These for fee services include onsite software install, reconfiguration of audio/video settings, new hardware recommendations and of course training and on-going software support. For more detailed information on the offering please go to http://www.insors.com/i2offer.htm.

"Internet2 has been a user and promoter of Access Grid technologies for several years. Through the enhanced capabilities of the inSORS solution, we will be able to increase the use of the Access Grid for internal uses as well as the staff's interaction with the global Access Grid community," said Ted Hanss, director of applications for Internet2. "Expanding deployment and use of collaboration services, such as the inSORS solutions, both enhances the network infrastructure by stressing IP multicast and encourages greater interaction among the education, government and corporate member community."

Michael Galich, inSORS President and CEO concurs, "The Internet2 community and Access Grid technology are a natural fit. Internet2 provides the robust connectivity, and inSORS enables the immersive collaborative environment. It's a win-win on multiple levels and inSORS is excited to bring these services to the Internet2 community."
