InCommon Grouper School Training Series Presents: Training in the Grouper Access Management Software

June 18 – 19, 2019

8:00 am - 5:00 pm (CDT)

University of Wisconsin, Madison

Registration is Open!

Details can be found on our site.

This two-day session will focus on the InCommon Trusted Access Platform packaged Grouper software (formerly known as TIER) -- including installation and configuration with a mix of lecture, hands-on training, and discussion. The target audience for this workshop is anyone interested in implementing access governance the "InCommon way", and includes novices and folks who already have some Grouper experience (although knowledge of identity management concepts and related implementation experience is strongly recommended).

The modules start with Grouper basics and progress through new Grouper features, access governance, Grouper security model, and Grouper administration. The session culminates in with an access governance practicum that incorporates the InCommon Trusted Access Platform suite of components and provides a "full IAM stack" experience.

Thinking about modernizing your operations? This is the right place. This is an opportunity to learn about the DevOps approach to managing your development and operations and how you can use the Docker containerized version of the software to streamline your work load. All of the training is done in a virtual machine (VM) environment, so you won’t need to know the details about containers.

For more information, see the curriculum on this wiki page. Still have questions? Send Erin an email () and we’ll provide all the answers you need.

Here is what you can expect:

·         A two-day, directed self-paced workshop

  • Hands-on exercises
  • Experienced trainers providing overviews and one-on-one help

  • Discussions on configuration and suggested practices for federation

  • Attendance is limited to 40

  • Opportunity to work with SMEs on solutions for your challenges

Grouper School will offer the chance to:

  • Gain experience with the Docker container version of Grouper
  • Discuss how to configure and run the software in production

  • Discuss integration with other identity management components
  • Make new friends with your peers and SMEs. We’re a fun bunch!
