You can create a composite with https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/Grouper/Group+Save, just specify hasComposite, leftGroup, rightGroup, etc.

 

To retrieve the factors of a specific composite group, use https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/Grouper/Find+Groups with includeGroupDetail set to T and query filter set to FIND_BY_GROUP_NAME_EXACT
