Sorry for the delay in replying, and thanks for your reply. I was
afraid you might say that...

In our environment, we're building Grouper from source and then
building Debian packages from that. We then use our configuration
management system to push the configuration files to our servers. The
process makes rebuilding servers as-is far easier, but means upgrading
through multiple versions is far more time-consuming than just running
the installer several times. :(
