Grouper Users - Open Discussion List

All,

I would really like to avoid needing to create my own Grouper UI (Web app) to 
achieve some "helper functions" in the UI ( to make user's life 
easier/better) and some "enhanced security" features too.  ( I am aware 
others have taken that approach already too. )
I am more than a bit lost with the current UI as to what is a defined "you 
can put stuff here and it will be ok". ( Maybe there is not a 
defined/designed way to do this at this time? )  
        NOTE: I am not talking about "branding" things. Those are "mostly OK" 
IMHO. Still could have a few minor tweaks for my perfect case, but good 
enough that I can live with the minor pains that are there now.


I wonder if other grouper UI users have the same needs/desires?

Here is a short list of a few things that I would really like to be able to 
do ( does anyone think these would be  helpful for you too? )  :
        ) add custom buttons (or menu items) for custom functions.
                Things like:
                         "add attributes"( "made easy" no search/knowledge 
required, click and done. )
                        Navigate to a custom screen ( jsp / servlet ) todo a 
"local pattern/function".
        ) some more "advanced" create pages.
                ) create a composite group, and the right /left parts from 
one page/save event
                ) set privileges on the object that is being created before 
it is created. (eliminate a "don't for get to..." step )

on the Security side... ( I have yet to be asked to do this, however I think 
it would be a good feature to have. )
        ) Is it possible to force a "in line re-auth" to avoid the 
possibility of an unattended terminal/ session hijacking for some "special" 
events?
                Think 2-factor step up, but forced for the page/event/context 
of the page/event. Maybe by folder, or attribute on a parent... etc...) 
                I think "Duo" is a fairly common tool for such things, maybe 
a recipe for that specifically would be a good add to the project? 
                Maybe something more Open Sourced / spec basd  like TOTP/HOTP 
generic approaches would also be a good choice. ( Or best yet.. a way to 
embed such things via a "layering" approach that let's others plugin their 
own implementations?)


Does anyone else want/"see a need for" these things? ( other things like 
this? )
