Ok that was easy J   Thanks Keith and Bill!  Lets put something together the three of us (in the interest of time).  Will contact you both off list to get a proposal together to meet the deadline.

Thanks

Chris

Sounds like a fun presentation. TIER improving campus security posture through better access governance is  a good message. Lafayette is seeing some success with deprovisioning (accounts and access) with a combination of CoManage and Grouper policy groups. Happy to participate.

Best,
Bill

Im picturing a session where several institutions present on their successes and challenges of deprovisioning (removing access when not needed anymore).  Anyone want to join or have another idea for some sort of deprovisioning Global Summit talk?

Thanks

Internet2 2018 Global Summit

2018 Internet2 Global Summit

Call for Proposals Extended to November 5

May 6-9, 2018
San Diego, CA

Why Propose a Session for the 2018 Global Summit?

The Research and Higher Education community has a long-standing history of pioneering disruptive and breakthrough technologies in pursuit of advancing scholarship, scientific research, and new discoveries. The community also is known for engaging in mutual-interest collaboration – across a diverse set of communities to solve common challenges for the benefit of all.

The community and Internet2 are now at a key inflection point – one that presents an incredible opportunity to move forward, reshape our collective thinking and once again have the R&E community take a leadership role in the broader technology landscape.

With a leadership transition, an upcoming network infrastructure refresh and advanced and ongoing developments in trust and identity, now is the time to set our collective course for the future. Together, we can continue to accelerate discovery and advance national and global research and education.

Call for Proposals

Proposal submissions are due Sunday, November 5, 2017, and are being solicited in the following three areas of interest listed below. They will be reviewed and selected by a formal Program Committee comprised of distinguished representatives from the R&E community. For planning purposes, track sessions will be scheduled throughout the day on Monday, May 7, Tuesday, May 8 and Wednesday, May 9.  Notifications regarding accepted proposals will be communicated in mid-December 2017.

If you have any questions about the submission process please contact .

Areas of Interest

Advanced Networking
Successful submissions will focus on trusted infrastructure and network foundations for the future. Submissions should highlight innovative technologies and capabilities in advanced networking, especially as they contribute to the research and education community’s capabilities for robust collaboration.  This includes building global leadership for a refreshed network – one that is advanced and secure.

Trust, Identity and Security
Successful submissions will focus on standards, policy, practices and service offerings to support a rapidly expanding set of trust and federated identity services needed for campuses, individuals, and service providers. Successful submissions could focus on advances within the TIER initiative, Identity and Access Management implementations, the InCommon federation as well as a focus on network and system security topics including cybersecurity, strategies and policies for major security incidents, malware-related challenges, cryptography, security of cloud-based services and the unique challenges of network security at very high speeds.

Solutions for Research and Education – Global and National
Successful submissions will highlight research and scholarship that demonstrate and support collaborations both by and between national and global partners in order to solve common and shared technology challenges.   Successful submissions will highlight the work of scientific researchers across campuses, virtual organizations, and national and commercial facilities, data resources and cloud services, that are seeking to use technology to solve common challenges in areas such as big data and analytics, smart campus, health and life sciences, the Internet of Things and other emerging areas in the community.
