I'm not sure if this is exactly the same issue as this previous post:

we're also seeing a null context_id in GROUPER_CHANGE_LOG_ENTRY.  It's causing
an issue with GoogleApps-Grouper-Provisioner running in dev (throwing NPE). 
(Grouper verison 2.3.0, upgraded from 2.2.1 on Nov 11)  

I was able to reproduce a creation of a record with null context_id by editing
an existing membership in a group to add startDate so that the startDate was
in the future.  Yesterday, I set a startDate on a memership to today, and this
morning, I see that a GROUPER_CHANGE_LOG_ENTRY with null context_id was
created for the add_membership of this member to the group.  I haven't tested
if membership expiring will do the same thing.  

I had seen a similar behavior in 2.2.1 (I think) but wasn't able to determine
the cause at that time.  Has anyone seen this before and is there a fix?
