The tarball dir was originally intended for upgrades/patches, but I made changes so the installer will use it too.  get the latest installer and try it out.  Note, if you don’t have a tarball dir, it will now go to the “tarballs” dir of the install location (to organize things).  Also, patches will go to the “patches” dir of the tarball dir.

 

Note, if you run this installer in a dir where you currently have run it, you will get duplicate tarballs which don’t harm anything, but might be confusing.  You might want to clean out old tarballs before patching…

When configuring the grouper.installer.properties file for the non-interactive Grouper Installer there’s this property that I was expecting to control where the location of the downloaded tarballs.

 

# autorun, uncomment to make work, Enter in a Grouper temp directory to download tarballs

# default is controller in a config in this config file: grouperInstaller.default.tarballDirectory

# if that is blank or not configured, default is current working directory

grouperInstaller.autorun.tarballDirectory = /tmp/downloads

 

However, when I run the installer with this configuration, the tarballs still go in the current working directory.  Is there another setting that I missed?
