I don’t think so... it by defaults runs at 3am, selects all from external
subject table, sees if there are updates, and updates those records. You can
blank it out in the config if you don’t use external subjects

Hi all,

there is an entry in grouper.base.properties (2.2 latest) for
externalSubjects.calc.fields.cron to run daily.

which attempts to explain what it is.

frankly, i’m not sure i understand or even need to understand. What i am
curious about is the impact of this thing. Is it conceivable in any way it
could generate excessive changes to the DB? We are seeing periodic excessive
DB change activity - large binlogs under mysql - and trying to see what might
be triggering the changes.

If anyone has advice, i’d appreciate it.
