For testing purposes, I have created a DB in my local machine which is the source of the subjects. I have a view in there users_v which has two columns Subject_ID and SUBJECT_SOURCE_ID. I have only one row in this users_v which does not exist in the subject and the subject attribute table. This local test DB will be replaced by the real users DB later. My group attributes look like below:

After setting it up, I run the loader from the grouper shell. When I check in the grouper_loader_log, I see number 1 in the unresolvable subject count column.

Do I need to have the same subject ids in the users_v  (external data source to the grouper) and also in the subject  and subject attribute tables ?

Yes, currently subjects managed by the loader need to be resolvable.  If your subject source that the loader is using the subject subjectsubjectattribute one, then subjects need to be there.  Generally that subject source is temporary for an institution, and they would hook up to an institution ldap or database for the real subject source.

Hi,

 

I am running the grouper loader to load some subjects into a group which is of type grouperloader. I am seeing the Unresolvable Subjects in the grouper_loader_log table. But when I run the loader after manually adding the entries into the Subject and SubjectAttribute table then the subjects are loaded successfully into the group. So, My question is that Is it a prerequisite to have the subjects in the Subject and the SubjectAttribute table before running the loader ?
