Grouper Users - Open Discussion List

I'm running Grouper on PostgreSQL for Project Bamboo. The question of 
connection pooling has come up. Is that something that Grouper just does with 
no need for additional work? If not, is it advisable to add that? If so, 
under what circumstances is it advisable?

I will refine the question if this is too content-lite.
