Putting this to the list so others can benefit… So what you are saying is the attribute value to the group for the owner or admin is a subjectId or identifier? I think you could do that with an attribute assign value hook. i.e. when the attribute value assigned, removed, or changed, see if that is the right attribute, and if so, then recalculate if that user should
be in the portal group or owners group. Then you might have some job that recalculates everything once per night… Interested in going down this path? Its not trivial, but it should work Thanks, Chris From: Pål Axelsson [mailto:]
Hi, I will try to explain in another way. We have more the 100 groups on all groups there is an attribute uuGroupOwner and an attribute uuGroupAdmin attached to the group. The values of the attributes are the user ids of the logical group owner and group
administrator. Example for the group abc123 user palaxel is owner via the attribute and johank and svenp are group administrators. All groups has owners and administrators are optional. What our web portal guys wants to do is to create dynamic groups from: 1.
All users that is appointed by the attribute uuGroupOwner shall automatically be members of the group Portal Group Owners. 2.
All users that is appointed by the attribute uuGroupAdmin shall automatically be members of the group Portal Group Admins. Pål From: Chris Hyzer []
Sorry, still don’t understand… here are some questions: 1.
Do you want to populate all existing groups, or all future groups created, or both? 2.
Is the owners group the same group for all groups, or does each group have its own owners group 3.
Do any memberships in the owners group get automatically populated, or do you manually edit those 4.
What naming convention will you have for the owners group and administrators group based on a group So for instance… you have groups a:b a:c b:d Then you have six groups that you want created? a:b_owners a:b_administrators a:c_owners a:c_administrators b:d_owners b:d_administrators Then you want the uuid or owners to be set as the owners_attribute of the respective group? Thanks, chris From: Pål Axelsson
Hi The people that are working with our employee portal uses Grouper for all group management. For all groups they have two attributes, owner and administrator. Now they want to create two groups “Group owners”
and “Groups administrators” that is automatically populated from the two group attributes. Is that possible? Pål From: Chris Hyzer []
Im not really understanding what you mean... can you explain with more detail? :)
Thanks, Chris From: Pål Axelsson
[] Hi Do you know if there is any way to automatically create a group over all users in all groups that has an attribute value with their uid attached to an attribute? The use cases we have is that we want a dynamic
group over all “group owners” and a dynamic group over all “group administrators”, defined via a group level attribute. Se the attached picture to make it more understandable.
