Here is an example at Penn of managing unix command permissions (in this case who can do which actions to which tomcats) in Grouper.  This is real time, and sync’ed up nightly just in case.

Before this we would edit a sudoers file which was a pain since a sysadmin had to do it, sometimes it was performed incorrectly, there wasn’t a global view or automatic deprovisioning when people leave, and it wasn’t simple to bundle up permissions for a team of people…
