If you want to assign an attribute on a membership, yes, you can do that.
The attribute framework UI is slated for Grouper 2.0 which will be out at the
end of the summer...
Thanks,
Chris

Subject: [grouper-users] Maintaining additional membership information
Does Grouper allow me to define additional membership information that
can be input via Grouper's web user interface?
For example, if we define a group named "Personnel Approved for Entry
to Secured Area", we would like to login to Grouper and input member,
reason for access to secured area, specific resource they are hosting
in our secured area, etc.
I can't say that I understand the attribute framework yet. I've tried
assigning an attribute to a membership, but I did not see that
reflected on the Grouper web user interface.
