Let's see... the differences are, if you use Grouper WS, you can have a
read/write connector, so in atlassian, if you edit group memberships, those
go to grouper. If your LDAP is always available, that might have better
uptime, though we mitigate that in the Atlassian connector with a 48 hour
second level cache. The read/write part is useful when people don't know
where to go to edit group memberships. If you can put a link in drupal admin
part to Grouper UI or to a lite UI from a group specific screen, that could
help. Drupal is PHP, and the Atlassian connector uses the Grouper Java
client, so there would be more code to write (WS and XMPP if you are using
it). I think drupal has LDAP support, so it would probably be a lot less
work to get that running...

We'll pursue that. I'm new to Grouper (and Drupal, for that matter) so I'm
curious whether there are any downsides to the straight-to-LDAP approach.
