I've been out since 3/1 and I don't know that anyone at U-M has had a chance to look at this since then.

resource allocation / tuning seems like something that would be a great addition to the deployment guide, and I plan on bringing it up at the Grouper Deployment Enhancement WG meeting.

Did you ever find the “magic” heap size? I just turned on this report job, and am seeing the same error nightly. We had only 750MB allocated for the max heap, so I’m doubling that to 1536.  I’m curious what you found to be a reasonable setting.

I turned on loader report generation and it ran once successfully.  Since then, we've been getting 

 

    Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

 

This is our sandbox (non-containerized) install and this vm has both the loader and the UI on it.  It's got 8GB.

 

We've only allocated about 1gb for the heap.

 

What's a reasonable amount of memory to allocate to the loader?  3-4gb?
