Discussion

Issue roundup

  • GRP-1091 – loader with path and display name changes

  • GRP-1142 – no audit entry for end date disabling membership

  • Tim Darby – Kafka messaging

  • GRP-1140 – virtual attributes for subject name and description

  • GRP-1138 – patch for auditing on import/export

  • Git issue #43 – loses track of LDAP connection

    • vt-ldap is not supported anymore

    • replaced with lldaptive: www.ldaptive.org

    • used by Shib IDP 3

    • decision: Grouper should move in direction of using ldaptive.

    • It’s now on Grouper roadmap

  • Should we use Git in addition to JIRA for issue tracking?

    • no, using both for issue tracking can be confusing

    • CAS moved from JIRA to Git

      • reason: account creating simper in Git

      • did not lose any functionality

      • JIRA give ability to create private issue, Git does not have that

      • CAS project created a workaround

    • This JIRA or Git issue - to be decided along with the TIER team

  • GRP-1143 – selective LDAP provisioning

  • Yuvraj GWU – active directory flat provisioning error

  • U Minn – disabling import

  • CMU configurable batchsize for change log consumer

  • Notre Dame and servlet containers, do we have a wiki on that?

    • there are periodic questions on this, what is our recommendation?

    • Chris thinks most people use Tomcat and that is what the installer uses

    • Dave: in the LITE UI, we must use Tomcat 6, can’t use Tomcat 7 or 8, based on how the EL gets interpreted

[AI] (Chris) will edit this Grouper Product Specs page to add more info on servlet containers, including the Java 8 issue.

  • GRP-1141 – script exception on java 8

  • Automatic patch creation - Chris working on this

  • GWU – pre group update hook

  • CMU – unique case insensitive name hook

  • Berkeley and UI/WS testing

  • Lafayette monitoring of grouper loader
