I thought I needed to update one third party dependency. Then I
thought, well, why not upgrade a few more, too. Then I built in ant,
and then maven, since we use both, and the runtime environment does
not appear identical. Probably a third party dependency version issue.

Perhaps we should have one version update correspond to upgrades of
third party dependencies, and not any code, so as to aid
troubleshooting in the future ?
