Hey Chris,

 

Great ! I will look at the wiki and I am launching the installation of the latest stable version of grouper.

 

Our goal is  to simply use Grouper as the group store for uPortal instead the native one (PAGS).

 

This means that the plugin should implement all that needed by uPortal to work correctly, I guess that there is something to do with JITGroupStore. We used that on 2.6 ALM, it should be alike with newer version.  Anyway I will let you known if we find any problem or have requirement. It might also be interesting to ask the uPortal-dev list if they have requirements.

 

By the way, we will use the RECIA portlet to manage Grouper from uPortal.

I am making more progress here.  A couple of things:

 

I am working in uportal trunk and Grouper 1.6.  I am only changing the plugin code (as opposed to uportal specific code) which should (might?) be easy to port back to 3.2 (Jen could chime in if needed).  Granted the plugin code is part uportal, but I think if you take those classes you could use it without too much effort in 3.2…

If you are going to be a customer, maybe it makes sense for you to formally give me the requirements of what you want me to do.  I know we have discussed it before, but just to be explicit.  J

As I saw Chris’s email to the uportal-dev list, I guess that he is working on the grouper and uPortal integration.

Is that right ?

Is there any release date even as an alpha or beta ? (we might help in testing)

 

Well we are at a cross-road in our migration plan to uPortal 3.2.x. We are not using the uPortal group (PAGS), and I would like to migrate the groups repository to grouper. I just want to know if we have to investigate that path.
