*New Action Items*

[AI] {Chris} will create a JIRA item for improving handling of foreign keys such that the attributes table and membership table use the UUID of fields table.

[AI] {Kathryn} will continue her work on "mavenizing" ldappc.

*Carryover Action Items*

[AI] {TomB} will send Chris an example of a functional case for hooks.

[AI] {Kathryn} will do background research on a messaging system to be used as a test/example case for hooks.

[AI] {TomZ} will investigate using a relational method of representing changes for the audit/change log.

*Discussion*

*Ddlutils*

Chris explained that ddlutils has problems with unique constraints, so some foreign keys don’t work. Currently, it’s not possible to have fields with the same name under different group types. The most flexible solution is to change the attributes and memberships tables to use the UUID of the fields table.

This change will require using a conversion script that will take some time to run, as every row will need updating. Old data will be kept in a column so it will be possible to go back.

It was decided to make this change for Grouper 1.4.0

[AI] {Chris} will create a JIRA item for improving handling of foreign keys such that the attributes table and membership table use the UUID of fields table.

*Ldappc and Maven*

Kathryn reported that Ldappc version 1.2.0 is ready to go with the switch from using Ant to using Maven as the build tool, with the last step being renaming of files and directories.

The group discussed whether Ldappc should stay Mavenized or go back to Ant. Kathryn found Maven does a very good job at managing dependencies, and she supported staying with Maven.

It was noted that Shibboleth uses Maven. TomB stated that Kathryn did a nice job with documentation, including adding configuration examples.

[AI] {Kathryn} will continue her work on "mavenizing" ldappc.

*Grouper 1.3.1 Release*

The group agreed that August 29 is still realistic for the Grouper 1.3.1 release. JIRA-114 is the last remaining major item for that release. Shilen expects to be done with it by the end of August.

Next call: Wed 20-Aug-08 Noon EDT.
(TomB will be on vacation on Aug 20; he will arrange for an alternate leader for the call.)
