*Action Items*
[AI] {Group} will continue to copy the MACE-Dir list for the time
being, regarding topics sent to the grouper-user and grouper-dev
lists.
[AI] {Gary} welcomes additional ideas for the maintenance release of
Grouper 0.5.1; send your ideas to the grouper-dev list.
[AI] {Anyone} should feel free to make a stem with their own
institution, or make groups, etc… Any feedback is encouraged.
*Discussion*
{Group} reviewed and confirmed plans to slowly move the Grouper
Discussion from the MACE-Dir-Groups mailing list to the 2 new mailing
lists: general discussion will be directed to the
<>,
while the development discussion will
move to the
<>.
{Group} will continue to
cross-post messages on these lists with the MACE-Dir-Groups list,
until a final transition point in mid-January. {Anyone} is welcome
and encouraged to join these open lists. [AI] {Group} will continue
to copy the MACE-Dir list for the time being, regarding topics sent to
the grouper-user and grouper-lists. Additional information can be
found on the Group's page
<http://middleware.internet2.edu/dir/groups/>
The most recent release of Grouper, v0.5, still has a few open issues
to work through, including configuration and code items. You can find
Grouper documentation and details at Grouper's homepage:
<http://middleware.internet2.edu/dir/groups/grouper/>. Before a
maintenance release of Grouper, v0.5.1, will be released as early as
January or February, {Group} will re-evaluate v0.5 and post comments
or suggestions to the
<>
list.
{Gary} walked the {Group} through the GroupsManager prototype found
at: http://portal.bris.ac.uk/GroupsManager/. A straightforward,
user-friendly means of navigation throughout the hierarchy will be
vital to the existence of stems, as well as to achieve user
acceptance. What is the best way to present this, from a user
perspective? [AI] {Anyone} should feel free to make a stem with their
own institution, or make groups, etc… Any feedback is encouraged. A
tutorial is expected to come out with the release, though it has not
been created yet; anyone is encouraged to offer assistance here. [AI]
{Gary} welcomes additional ideas for the maintenance release of
Grouper 0.5.1; send your ideas to the grouper-dev list.
The next call will take place on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 12pm ET.
