mace-dir members,

With the initial release of Grouper, two new mailists have been established.

1. grouper-users at internet2 dot edu is for support of Grouper users

2. grouper-dev at internet2 dot edu is for design and development discussions

Both lists are open to the public - they are not restricted to Internet2 members, people can autonomously subscribe and unsubscribe.

The mace-dir-groups group was formed as a subgroup of the mace-dir working group more than 3 years ago (geez, how time flies!), and the mace-dir list has been home to discussion of many groups-related matters.

Over the last year or so those discussions have most often focused on Grouper. With the initial open source release of Grouper now a fact, it is time to move the types of Grouper-related discussions we've had on mace-dir over to the open grouper-dev list.

Other groups-related matters should continue to be discussed on the mace-dir list (for example, discussion of isMemberOf, hasMember, and the eduMember objectclass).

So, please subscribe yourselves to grouper-dev if you wish to continue tracking the on-going design and development of Grouper. Subscription instructions are at http://middleware.internet2.edu/dir/groups/grouper/#List

Grouper-related messages should be posted to both mace-dir and grouper-dev for a little while - long enough to give interested persons on mace-dir a chance to get subscribed to grouper-dev. Given the upcoming holidays, let's agree to dual post through mid-January.

Tom
