Dear participants,
thank you for registering for the FDT tutorial
tomorrow! The coordinates are: Sunday, October 15
We will start with a presentation from Prof. Harvey Newman. He will introduce FDT and its place within the integrated architectures for data intensive science.
After that, I will give a hands-on tutorial
showing how to install and use FDT together with some typical
examples.
For the hands-on tutorial all you need is a
laptop with an ssh client. On Linux or MacOS you can use the
default ssh client run in a terminal. On Windows you need an
extra client, like Putty or similar. We will provide you with
the IPs and the login to virtual machines in the Google cloud.
The use of these VMs for the tutorial is made
possible through the generous help of Google Cloud for Higher
Education & Research. We will post all presentations and instructions online and share
the links with you. Questions and comments are welcome before and
after the tutorial.
