I think we agreed on the last COmanage-dev call that we needed to get our hands around the varied meanings of federated/domesticated ssh.
Two specific next steps were the following:
1. assembling a group of folks to work on it. I think volunteers/ draftees were - Michael, Tom, Steven, Jim Leous, Jim Basney at a minimum. Anyone else want to volunteer? In addition, we will look for a link to the Dutch efforts.
We talked about using the alternate week slots of the COmanage time for these calls, which would make our first call Friday Sept 10th at 2 pm edt.
2. creating a survey to use with several key VO's to help identify the issues-
what are your current approaches, if any, and what works/doesn't
do users show up with keys or do they need to be generated
what applications are ssh used for?
on what platforms do accounts need to be provisioned
what should happen when an account is deprovisioned
how are permissions on the targets sent - how does the target use the info
etc.
Possible VO's to survey
LIGO (Scott Koranda)
HubZero (Michael McLennan from Purdue)
ciLogin and Teragrid
Open Science Grid
Planetlab
iPlant
OOI
Comments are welcome. Volunteers are welcome. This conversation will move to its own list after this...
