I know a technical architect at MIT, maybe you should complain to him.

on a more serious note, i'm happy to give you an extra cpu core for your
demo on one or both of your VMs, but i'd like to take the extra cores
back once the demos are done, as our overall environment got a lot more
responsive once we dropped everyone down to single cores.

on an additional positive note, we have funding for some modest
improvements to our VM infrastructure this year; once that's done we
can give you the extra cpu resources permanently. This probably won't
happen until after SMM, though.
