One of the session ideas being developed for the upcoming meeting is

Identity and shared services
Option 1. Technologies and implementation projects ranging among COmanage, SURFnet, CIC, and CSG-related stuff.
Option 2. More policy-oriented: where are we going with respect to leveraging cloud/shared services, and what are the implications for managing identity, access, and intellectual property, lots of other stuff? Speaker: Richard Katz? And Charlie Catlett?

What do you think about a setting such as this in which comanage makes an appearance rather than being the sole focus of a session?

Hi all -

I've submitted a request for a working group session. Should we have a more general track sessions? I'm not sure those have been entirely useful.

Dear Colleagues,

Proposals are due next Friday, 26 June, for the Fall 2009 Internet2 Member Meeting <http://events.internet2.edu/2009/fall-mm/index.html>, 5-8 October in San Antonio, Texas. Full details and proposal submission forms are available online <http://events.internet2.edu/2009/fall-mm/calls.cfm>.

The overarching theme for this fall's meeting is: “Collaborations and Resource Sharing in Research and Education: How the economic crisis is fueling the expansion of networking technology, fostering global communities, and driving social change.” Presentations that focus on the elements of network-based collaboration, including--but not limited to--virtual organizations, social networking, and software collaboration tools are encouraged. Additional information about specific session content is provided in the track descriptions.

The Program Committee is also introducing a new track at this meeting, dedicated to late-breaking topics or information. This new track will include one “Lightning Talks” session where presenters provide short talks on interesting or timely topics. Submissions for these talks will be accepted through the end of the first day of the Member Meeting. Look for additional details on these talks, as well as registration information, later this summer.

See you in San Antonio!
