  • Monday, May 6: Project Eureka and Adaptive Computing at Scale

Boyd Wilson, CEO at Omnibond and former Software CTO and Executive Director of Computing Facilities and Operations at Clemson University, will provide an overview of HPC capabilities and tools in the cloud and how Project Eureka can make large-scale computing for research easier. [Register to attend]

  • Tuesday, May 7: A Practical Guide to Cloud Security on AWS

James Smith, Cloud Architect and Faculty - CDT Program at the University of Notre Dame, will provide a brief overview of securing an AWS environment and insight into key decision points when utilizing Amazon Web Services. [Register to attend]

  • Thursday, May 9: Introduction to Jetstream: Accessible Cloud Computing for the National Science and Engineering Communities

In this informative session, Jennifer Taylor, IT project manager and user support specialist at Indiana University will present details about Jetstream2. Taylor’s webinar will include information about the National Science Foundation's Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support (ACCESS) program, which supports Jetstream2 so it can be offered to users at no cost. The webinar will also discuss the basics of Jetstream2 and the benefits of cloud computing, potential use cases, basic steps for getting started, and best practices for instance management. [Register to attend]

  • Friday, May 10: CLASS Advanced Final Presentations

Participants from the 2024 CLASS Advanced Spring cohort will talk about the outcomes of their final projects, including how they worked together to create a research computing playbook and community templates for cloud solutions. This is an opportunity to learn more about the CLASS program and how participants from various institutions collaborate to further research on their campuses. [Register to attend]

  • Finally, if you’re attending Scipy’24 and PEARC’24, please reach out. I’d love to catch up with the CLASS community, learn about what you’re up to, and discuss how we can continue supporting your technological adventures.
