COMMUNITY UPDATES

June 2023


Dear CLASS Community, sun, fire season, and El Niño is upon us. Fear not, CLASS has a few "cool" events that may be of interest before you head off into your much needed summer respite.

NEWS

  • The 6th cohort of the AWS Solutions Architect - Associates Certification Learning Pathway will kick off on June 28 with Sharif Nijim returning as the technical facilitator. Participants will work together over 10 weeks on flexible, self-paced tutorials and labs and convene as a cohort for weekly facilitated discussions. Applications are now open, and space is very limited. 


  • CloudBank will be holding a webinar on SkyPilot, an open-source framework from UC Berkeley that enables users to run Machine Learning and Data Science batch jobs seamlessly on any cloud. Register now for the webinar on June 20 at 1pm PT to learn more about how to reduce cloud costs substantially, tap into best-in-class hardware on different clouds, and enjoy higher resource availability. 


  • Registration is now open for the 2023 TechEx! If you are an avid technologist, TechEx offers technical talks, workshops, and discussion forums aimed at helping the higher education community address technology challenges and brainstorm solutions.  The event will take place in Minneapolis, Minn., from Sept. 18-22, 2023. Early bird rates end on June 16!
