Dear CLASS Community, there is plenty of news for this update cycle that I am excited to share!

NEWS

REMINDER: There are still spots available for CLASS Essentials for Azure happening on 11/08. The instructor will be Naomi Alterman who is the technical education specialist at the UW eScience Institute and also works on the CloudBank project.
AWS is offering the CLASS community an opportunity to become beta testers for their new AWS Lightsail for Research project, a one-click solution for deploying research workflows on the cloud. Beta testing is scheduled to run through January 2023. To sign up, send an email to

Call for proposals are now open for the 2023 Community Exchange conference! If you are interested in helping shape policy, and influence development of tools that support the research and education community, Community Exchange provides that networking and discussion platform! The event will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 8-11, 2023

The inaugural Internet2/Microsoft Azure Accelerator Program kicked off in October! Find out more about the 5 great projects that were selected and sign up to watch the final presentations on how utilizing the cloud helped advance their scientific workflows!

A new iteration of CLASS Advanced will be coming in February 2023! The course will consist of an intensive one-week cloud learning bootcamp followed by a week of deep-diving into collaborative capstone projects. More info coming shortly.
