Colleagues,

 

Before I ambush your calendars with a couple of meeting invitations, let me give you some details. As members of CICP subscribing institutions, you are welcome to join any/all of the programs for both AWS and GCP. For those new to the NET+ AWS or NET+ GCP programs, let me briefly lay out our active community activities.

 

Tech Shares – These are bi-weekly (AWS) or monthly (GCP) open discussion meetings where members of the community get together to share what’s going on in their AWS/GCP world. This could be specific projects you are working on, Org management challenges, or interest research projects you are supporting. An AWS Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Customer Engineer join us for most calls to answer questions and talk through ideas.

• AWS Tech Shares take place every other Wednesday at 8am PT/12pm ET https://internet2.zoom.us/j/89225081881.
• GCP Tech Shares take place the third Thursday of every month at 10am PT/1pm ET at https://internet2.zoom.us/j/82174251582.
• Both have standing invitations. If you don’t have them on your calendar, drop me a line and I’ll forward you the series.

 

Quarterlies – Once a month we have a topical call. We cycle through a series of formats from Town Halls, to Strategy Calls, to “Tech Jams” (deep dives to work through an issue), and more recently, “Barn Raisings” where we build out a project created by another school. Topics for these calls often come from the Tech Shares. In response, we bring in experts to address the community’s questions or teach us something new.

 

We have a few quarterlies on the calendar I can share with you now.

 

·        Tuesday, July 22, 11am PDT/2pm EDT – NET+ GCP Town Hall: Google AgentSpace for EDU (details and registration)

·        Wednesday, July 23, 11am PDT/2pm EDT – NET+ AWS Strat Call: Cloud Innovation Center Beauty Pageant (details and registration)

·        Tuesday, August 12, 12pm PDT/3pm EDT – NET+ GCP Strat Call: What to do with your free Cloud Skills Boost Licenses (details and registration)

 

I’m only going to send the AWS invitation to the CICP list. I already sent the GCP ones to the GCP list. But you are welcome to come. Just click on the registration link and get your calendar file that way. NOTE: you must register to get the meeting connection information. Sorry, but I need my metrics…
