Colleagues,

On behalf of the Cloud Forum Organizing Committee, I am pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 11th annual Higher Education Cloud Forum. This year’s Forum will take place from May 20-22 and is hosted by our colleague Jennifer Sparrow and her team at New York University.

The Cloud Forum is a unique event put on by the research and education cloud community for the research and education cloud community. Each year a group of community members works to create an event worthy of the Cloud Forum tradition. That tradition includes deeply relatable content, spirited discussions, meaningful connections with peers, and more than a few laughs.

The Cloud Forum is primarily a cloud strategy and leadership event. The target audience for the Cloud Forum runs from CIOs, to directors of infrastructure, and, of course, cloud enablement leadership and architects. We strongly encourage attendance by institutions early in their cloud journey.

In addition to regular presentations, lightning talks, panel discussions, and research presentations from members of the research and education cloud community, this year’s schedule includes a workshop titled “Cloud Security Maturity Model Workshop: Advancing Your Institution’s Readiness.” The workshop, organized this year by Lehigh’s James Monek, was developed with detailed input and participation from customer engineers and solutions architects from Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.

In Person

Registration for In-person attendance at the Cloud Forum is now open at https://events.internet2.edu/cloudforum25

  • Limited to 120 attendees
  • No more than 3 attendees per institution
  • In-person attendance is limited to staff, faculty, and, with approval, students from institutions of higher education and academic research. Other than a few invited guests, there are no vendors at the Cloud Forum.
  • Full details can be found at https://internet2.edu/cloud-forum/cloud-forum-registration/

Virtual

If you are unable to attend in person, this year’s research presentations and panel on supporting researchers in the cloud on Tuesday, May 20 will be available virtually.

Please share this email with colleagues at your institution and at eligible partner institutions. We hope that holding the Forum in New York this year will create an opportunity to welcome many new voices to the community cloud conversation.

Finally, if you want to shorten your commute to an upcoming Cloud Forum, consider hosting! Read about what that entails at https://internet2.edu/cloud-forum/about/hosting-the-cloud-forum/.

If you have any questions, drop me a line.
